Cyberpelago explores the many facets of feminized diasporic labor through artificial landscapes and an avatar created with a LiDAR scanner.

serving as a 'patcher' within virtual spaces, a digital avatar reflects the disproportionately domestic labor of Overseas Filipino Workers as she cleans and cooks.

Cyberpelago evolved as the project developed, furthering concerns about perpetuating stereotypes and the model minority myth by failing to support those facing a familiar, colonial genocide.

where Cyberpelago emerges from --
in patch 0.0, new media scans of ordinary items are arranged to create a surreal landscape. throughout the piece, the objects rotate, becoming a three-dimensional map of rolling hills, pastel valleys, and sparkling rocks. these objects are imperfectly made, however, eventually exposing unscanned voids and digital fragments.
