Gia Abucejo is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher working primarily across film & video, installation, writing, and animation. She has created works that have exhibited nationally & internationally in galleries, festivals, and performance spaces. Her first video work, Shield Ambiance, was awarded "Best Imaginative Transformation: Exceptional Storytelling in Experimental Video" at the 2023 Feminist Border Arts Film Festival.

She recently completed Mattress Factory's Summer School: State of the Sky cohort program, where she interacted with contemporary archival theory and solar darkroom practices. ​​

Currently working in archives in New York City. Keenly interested in digital and/or aquatic imaginaries.
