Gia Abucejo is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher working primarily across film & video, installation, writing, and animation. Operating at the intersection of digital nativity and diaspora, her work often embraces speculative dreaming, glitch aesthetics, and archival theory to create and parse sites of possibility.
She has made works that have exhibited nationally & internationally in galleries, festivals, and performance spaces. Her first video work, Shield Ambiance, was awarded "Best Imaginative Transformation: Exceptional Storytelling in Experimental Video" at the 2023 Feminist Border Arts Film Festival.
She recently completed Mattress Factory's Summer School: State of the Sky cohort program, where she interacted with contemporary archival practices and solar darkroom techniques.
Currently working in archives in New York City.
